day 347 - still visiting

Today is the 4th day of the 50th week, the 13th day of the 12th month, and the 347th day of 2023.

The day started out with the news that Dick Van Dyke is 98 years old today.  The news story featured a picture of him riding a bike and clowning around.  The man is 25 years older than I am and has more mobility than I do!

Today we sat and talked and covered a wide range of topics from what we thought of the afterlife to the best components for a high-end gaming computer with many digressions throughout.

Tomorrow will only be a half day as we have to be at the airport by 2 PM.  We are due into BWI sometime  after 6PM and have only the rigamarole of getting ourselves out of the airport and home left to contend with.

It has been a poignant visit.  It was good to meet the two guys who are caring for and about my son as he determinedly fights against the cancer.  My daughter and I like them both and it is obvious they are doing a very good job.  And equally fortunately, the two of them seem to like both of us and they [along with the household’s four cars] have decided that we too are family.   My son actually looked better than he did the last time I saw him as the doctor has slowed down the pace of his chemo and his partner insisted he start taking the pain meds that have been prescribed for him.

Time has gone very quickly.
