Tribute to a fallen giant

The weather was cool in the morning, but quickly warmed up to a very unseasonable temperature of  around 72° before noon.  Today is the last day of this warm spell, which broke records over the weekend hereabouts, as the cold front is supposed to blast into the area this evening, dropping the mercury by 30° within a couple of hours, and promising much more fall-like weather for the rest of the week.  

We are long past due for a major snowstorm, but the overall forecast is indeterminate - although the area will probably have normal or above temps, the air is supposed to be moist, and that could set us up for a classic, epic nor'easter.

I think, after glancing at the various news stories and social media, I'm going to stick to blathering on about the weather today.
