Day 144 - all hail the glories of PTO

Today is the 5th day of the 21st week, the 25th day of the 5th month, the 145th day of 2023, and:

[ NOTE:  Somewhere my numbering got screwed up - don't know where I double posted or if I actually accidentally overwrote an existing post, but the past couple of days have been off.  I cannot tell how far back the error goes, but I really have written a post every single day!  Well there was that one day when I forgot and just post "oops" so maybe I can blame that for the miscount.  From this point forward, the number of the day of the year should be correct - at least until the next typo  ]

Quote of the day:

'A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand-combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (such a mind-bogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
"

Construction update:

Progress on this portion of the repairs seems to be slow - but as all those red and yellow lines I showed you last week indicate, they apparently have a lot more concrete to pulverize.  The jackhammers are out in full force again this morning

At the same time, a crew is working below in the garage.  Now and then I see a steam shovel wending its slow way up the driveway and making for a huge construction dumpster where a load of rubble is unloaded.  They are still saying it will be August before everything is completed.

I have a quiet day planned today - just piddle fiddling about the apartment and online.  Slept in all the way to 7 AM!  I have a maintenance request in as the bathroom sink stoppers have gone wonky - the one in the master bedroom is stubbornly shut while the one in the hall bathroom is stuck open.  Both little levers that are supposed to move them do nothing - indeed, the one in the hall bathroom will come completely out if pulled on hard enough!  Hopefully they'll fix it today because I have plans to go avisiting tomorrow....

At least I know where my towels are!
