Day 51
Today is the 2nd day of the 8th week [blast it all - that website has MONDAY as the first day of the week!!! So now I was right with my week count and now yesterday's post is wrong], the 20th day of the 2nd month, the 51st day of 2023, there are 307 shopping days until Christmas [yeah that count seems to have gotten misreported too but if there are 314 days left in the year....], and:
- Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes - I don't think very many of us realize that today's war actually could be said to have started back in 2014....
- Fasching - which seems to be a version of the carnival type celebrations, like Mardi Gras, that precede Lent
- International PechaKucha Day
- National Cherry Pie Day
- National Comfy Day
- National Day of Solidarity with Muslim, Arab, and South Asian Immigrants
- National Handcuff Day
- National Leadership Day
- National Love Your Pet Day
- National Muffin Day
- National Student Volunteer Day
- Northern Hemisphere Hoodie Hoo Day
- President's Day [always the 3rd Monday of the 2nd month]
- Shrove Monday
- World Day of Social Justice
Quote of the day:
"If you tell a lie that's big enough, and you tell it often enough, people will believe you're telling the truth, even if what you are saying is total crap."
~ Richard Belzer, American actor, stand-up comedian, and author

I have often wondered who said that because it seems to sum up the dangers of not actually studying history and teaching critical thinking.
On another note:
Pretty much the story of my life, lots and lots of good ideas but...
It has been a pretty quiet weekend, with lots of time spent sleeping and trying to get a handle on the new inhaler and the impact of the new meds on my bouncing blood sugar readings. I did manage to move Nowhereville beach out of the winter, but the treehouse area is still muffled with snow. I found I had retextured some of the cave's rocks on the beach, and had to replace it, which means reorienting a large chunk of landscaping and that proved to require more time and energy, so it isn't quite where it needs to be just yet. And of course, tonight is a work night. Fortunately I work from home tomorrow!
