Quote of the day:
"When I was a child,
 I caught a fleeting glimpse;
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look, but it was gone;
I cannot put my finger on it now,
The child is grown, the dream is gone."
~ Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb"

My son lived a very rich second life.   He wrote, he drew, he was part of the furry community both online, in gaming, and in world.

Tommy joined Second Life on October 18th, 2004.  From the beginning he was a part of the vibrant furry and BDSM communities.  For a while, before mesh entered the scene, he created clothing [beladona still wears his ankle boots now and then], but he never had his own shop.  He didn't hang out with me or his sister that often, but our paths crossed now and then.

Back in junior high, even while deliberately flunking out of other classes [like math], Tommy got high marks in art because he taught himself to draw.  I was fortunate that he always let me see his art, even when he had to warn me that it was somewhat x-rated, and back in 2007, he put his art online.  [My readers are welcome to take a look, but it is definitely not PG-rated so you have been warned!]  I don't have the link to his MLP books anymore though; I read them but I can't find the two I know about online.  It has been both heartwarming and comforting to see the comments and tributes the community have left for him.

 And yes, the skunk was always his fav animal.  I have the pig, Gem has the flamingo, my mother had the bunny, and Tommy had a skunk.  And yes, he was always female online and in world.  The bound red heart was his sigil online

It was online that he met first Chris and then Bryan - eventually leaving Florida and traveling to Nashville and taking up residence with them.  The three of them formed an extremely close family bond and together they went through the entire losing battle against cancer.  Gem and I adopted both of them a couple of years back, and we are all going through the grieving process together.

Tommy never felt that he had to hide from his family who or what he was, and I am forever grateful that he knew all of us accepted him as he was and loved him unconditionally.

He passed away peacefully, knowing we would miss him terribly, but that we would take care of each other until we can take that train to the Boardwalk and find him renovating that Arcade.
