"All human wisdom is summed up in two words: wait and hope"
~ Alexandre Dumas
There is a welcome break in the extreme heat and the temperatures last night actually fell down to 61°F - very unusual this time of year hereabouts. I was able to open the windows and get the bedroom cooled down for the first time in weeks. Of course doing that aggravates allergies, but one problem at a time.
After all that angst, and the time spend trying to do research, the passport shows up in my mailbox late yesterday afternoon, and the status in the "informed delivery" section of the USPS simply changed as though Saturday's posting about being returned to the sender because the addressee was unknown was never made.
I haven't been posting pictures because apparently the crews have been working in the garage on the days that I have been home. Last Monday there was a notice posted for all cars to move off the parking lot, but that didn't happen.
Today however, they were out there doing something very noisy, maybe sanding down the rough spots? The entire project is supposed to be completed this month, so I'm expecting the paving to start soon
The first of the month is always a rough day as payments flood in and all the end of the month tasks are due - and today is no exception. Auditors, regulators, and examiners don't like it when you use EXCEL spreadsheets for reports, and today has been a great illustration of why! Two of my ongoing spreadsheets became corrupted - one when I inadvertently agreed to accept external links and the other when I overwrote the EOQ report instead of "saving as"
At least it isn't Monday....
