Quote of the day:
"Children need to get a high-quality education, avoid violence and the criminal-justice system, and gain jobs. But they deserve more. We want them to learn not only reading and math but fairness, caring, self-respect, family commitment, and civic duty."~ Colin Powell, American politician, statesman, diplomat, and US Army officer who as the 65th US Secretary of State.
When my kids were growing up, like every other parent, I was used to hearing the plaint "but that's not fair!" Invariably, to their complete disgust, my response never varied: "Life's not fair - cope."
So when my daughter saw this t-shirt in the Disney's villain collection, she was thoroughly amused, and had to get it for me. I did my best to look like Scar in the snapshot....
And today was the perfect day to wear it. You see, anyone who possibly could took off today and made it a four-day weekend as we all have off tomorrow for the 4th's festivities. I have the leave available, but I also have the EOM/EOQ reports that have to get churned out this week, so here I am, working.
At least I could work from home today!
