Quote of the day:
"People often ask themselves the right questions. Where they fail is in answering the questions they ask themselves."~ William Maxwell, Time Will Darken It
To be sure, I was always better at asking questions than I ever was at coming up with answers! But sometimes asking the right question is far more important to decision making than we realize, neh?
Triscuit was enjoying the sun first thing this morning - especially since everything is closed up and the A/C is running. The air quality today is poor hereabouts - apparently we cannot blame Canada for sending their wildfire smoke south because this is courtesy of New Jersey.
I am working from home today because our office building was doing a vent leak test that involved filling all the vents with smoke overnight. Management warned us that there may be residual smoke about, and I let bossman know that with all the coughing and hacking I was already doing, I wasn't going to brave coming in and dealing with the residual
Today they are pouring concrete. One of those huge concrete mixer trucks dumped a load in what appears to be a type of dumpster [around the bend to the right], and the little carts are shuttling the wet concrete to the proper location. Looks like hot, dirty work, and I have no idea how they are keeping the cement from drying before they lay it down and smooth it
Folks trying to drive through the parking area are having some issues with all this activity, and there has been some horn blowing as a result
Today is an important day in the family. Frank was born on this day in 1938 and he would've been 85 this year. Next year I will have been without him for as long as I was with him, and that makes me pensive. I often wonder what he would've made of the world these days. And he would've been so pleased ten years ago that his granddaughter was born on his birthday!
Ten years old today, and she will be starting the 5th grade this year, her final year in elementary school.
Where has the time gone?
