Day 94 - the second Monday of the second quarter

Today is the 3rd day of the 14th week,  the 4th day of the 4th month, the 94th day of 2023, and:
  • 404 Day - In 2013, the New York Times asked why the US has fallen behind the rest of the world in providing reliable, speedy, affordable internet access.  A decade later?  The pandemic showed us just how lousy our service still is.
  • Holy Tuesday
  • Hug a News Person Day
  • Independence Day - Senegal from France in 1960
  • International Carrot Day
  • International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action
  • Jeep 4 X 4 Day
  • National Cordon Bleu Day
  • SAAM Day of Action [ AKA National Sexual Assault Day of Action]
  • Tell a Lie Day
  • Victims of Violence Wholly Day
  • Vitamin C Day
  • Walk Around Things Day
  • World Rat Day
Yes I know it is Tuesday, but today is one of those days that I don't care what that calendar says, it feels like another Monday.

Quote of the day:
"There was another life that I might have had, but I am having this one."

Yesterday they were very quiet, and I didn't pay much attention to the activity.  Apparently the cement was poured to cover those gaping holes, and they are leveling it off today -- lots of noise and dust!  Of course I am more aware of it because it is a very warm day and all the windows are open.  I ended up closing the balcony door when they started running five jackhammers, making new holes....
Tomorrow it is supposed to hit 85° and I expect the apartment will feel like an oven when I get home from the office because showers are in the forecast and I cannot leave the place open

Time for my semi-annual complaining about the timing of management's decision to switch from heat to A/C.....

*sniffles*  One of the joys of this inflammation of the lungs and using an inhaler is that I cough a lot, and the high pollen count aggravates the condition, so between sniffling and coughing, I am just a joy to be in close quarters with.  I bet the general public appreciates that I am still masking!

For two full days I struggled with the accounts  reconciliation for this quarter.  I finally got them done late this afternoon, and sent it all out to Accounting.  Now my brain feels like it has turned to mush, and tomorrow we return dealing with the EOY - another credit union we service has a list of auditor questions...

And to think, there are folks doing this for a living!   At least the jackhammers stopped at 4 PM.
